Artist Statement

These pieces are an unbridled look into my subconscious. The true subject matter of my artwork will often reveal itself to me long after it’s creation. It's a fairly remarkable thing to discover that you're not always the fully conscious author you thought you were.

The forms, shapes, and symbols in these works are often rendered in backgrounds that feel blank and eternal: allowing them to be viewed in sharp contrast to speak directly to the nervous system of the viewer in order to draw dormant shadow material to the surface.

My work is ultimately just a mirror: the self reflected though the distorting prism of my own neurosis. At least I think so…But honestly the closer I examine what I’m doing, the more distorted and mysterious it becomes.
